A gourmet picnic for 4 (or more) with a hand and foot ritual

Enjoy one of our romantic and gourmet picnics suited for a great day’s outing next to the river to de stress from the rigours of city life. Our midday picnics start at 11 and end at 5, so you can relax and enjoy the whole day next to the river in style and comfort.

Included in the picnic basket:

  • Whole roasted honey glazed chicken, Peppered Rare roasted beef served with a sweet balsamic reduction and Smoked salmon
  • Philadelphia and Gorgonzola cheese drizzled with basil pesto and served with Ciabata
  • Seasonal fruit skewers and Lethabo’s homemade potato salad
  • Tomato Mozzarella and Basil Pesto Salad
  • Green Herb salad with a Meze of sun dried tomatoes, humus, feta and olives
  • Honey coated Baklava fingers and Chocolate Mousse cake

Check in Friday with a welcome cocktail, dine by candlelight at the riverside restaurant to a 3 course gourmet dinner, enjoy our half day Spa package on the Saturday with a picnic style dinner at the Farmhouse on your private balcony at your room, breakfast Sunday and check out.

The Stable Room and Picnic Special

Our cheap and cheerful special option is for two nights in The Stable Room at R 350 per person per night, bed and breakfast. Ideal for students, its cosy with the bathroom as part of the room, looks out at the stables with our beautiful thoroughbred horses.

You can picnic at a beautiful, private spot next to the river for the day, (R 800 including a bottle of wine), then sleep over again. Dinner wouldn’t be necessary when you see the picnic basket contents! The total would be R 2200 for the two of you for the whole weekend. It’s great value.
